About me
Dr. Gupta is a fellowship-trained, board-certified multi-organ abdominal transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary (liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile duct) surgeon who performs the full range of adult and pediatric transplants — liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal, and multivisceral. His areas of special interest and expertise include living-donor transplantation, complex and repeat transplantation, pediatric transplantation, and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery.
He earned his medical degree from Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad and a master's degree in General Surgery from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, in Varanasi, India. He completed his General Surgery residency at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts, and a fellowship in Abdominal and Multiorgan Transplant Surgery at MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute. He most recently served as a Consultant HPB and Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital in Mumbai, India.
Dr. Gupta's research uses large international transplant databases and artificial intelligence to predict outcomes and personalize care, with additional work in liver-cancer genomics. He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Society of Transplantation, and the Transplantation Society.
He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. Outside of work, Dr. Gupta enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new cuisines, and unwinding with a good anime series.
