About me
Raktim Ghosh, MD, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Ghosh treats a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, and abnormal heart rhythms.
Dr. Ghosh has extensive training in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, clinical pharmacology, and outcomes research. He served as chief resident in the internal medicine program. In addition to patient care, he is dedicated to medical education, teaching medical students and residents, and conducting clinical research.
Dr. Ghosh employs a collaborative, team-based approach, encouraging patients to actively participate in their treatment plans.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE), and the American College of Physicians (FACP). Dr. Ghosh has been recognized by Baltimore magazine as a Top Doctor for non-interventional cardiology in 2023 and 2024. He has published numerous manuscripts in leading journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, and International Journal of Cardiology. He also serves as a peer reviewer for prominent cardiovascular journals.
His research interests focus on cardiovascular therapeutics and cardiovascular imaging.
