Dr. Shekhar Gogna is a board-certified, fellowship-trained abdominal transplant and hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgeon specializing in liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal, and multivisceral transplantation, as well as complex HPB surgery. His expertise encompasses the full spectrum of abdominal organ transplantation, transplant oncology, pancreatic surgery, liver tumors, biliary malignancies, and the advanced surgical management of complex hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal diseases.

Dr. Gogna has a particular interest in expanding access to transplantation through innovative donor utilization strategies, organ preservation and machine perfusion technologies, and multidisciplinary approaches to the treatment of advanced liver disease and hepatobiliary malignancies. His clinical practice integrates transplantation and complex oncologic surgery, including the management of pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic liver tumors, pancreatic cystic neoplasms, benign biliary disorders, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction following organ transplantation and major abdominal surgery.

Dr. Gogna's research focuses on transplant outcomes, donor organ optimization, machine perfusion, transplant oncology, and healthcare systems innovation. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented nationally and internationally, and contributes to the advancement of the field through editorial and peer-reviews.

Dr. Gogna completed his medical education and surgical training in India before pursuing General surgery residency training at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal, and multivisceral transplantation, as well as complex HPB surgery.
