Dr. Powell graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2020. He remained at Georgetown for psychiatry residency training (completed in 2024) and his fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (completed in June 2025). He now joins the department as an attending psychiatrist in a newly created role in partnership with Georgetown’s Wound Center and Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Powell will work closely with the Wound Center to provide both inpatient consultations and outpatient psychiatric treatment for patients coping with chronic wound problems. He will also be seeing general psychiatry and C-L outpatients in the department. He is excited to continue his time at Georgetown and to collaborate with many of the colleagues and mentors who helped shape his training.
