Nico is one of the inpatient Internal Medicine Chief Residents at the Washington DC VA Medical Center where he focuses on quality improvement, patient safety, and medical education. Born in Massachusetts, he completed his medical training at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Washington DC for residency. During his training, Nico was awarded the April Hartmann Award which is presented to an intern in the Department of Medicine who embodies kindness, positivity, and enthusiasm as well as a SPIRIT award. His professional interests include academic endocrinology with a focus in thyroid nodules and cancer and the emerging field of interventional endocrinology. In his free time, Nico enjoys spending time with his girlfriend (especially playing video games together), hiking, skiing, fishing, camping, and watching Boston sports teams.
