Nihar Modi, MD

Nihar Modi is one of the Internal Medicine Chief Resident at the Washington DC VA Medical Center, where he focuses on inpatient education and resident curriculum development. Originally from Sayreville, New Jersey, he earned his undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Genetics from Boston University before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine. He moved to Washington, D.C., for residency at Georgetown University Hospital, where he developed a strong interest in pulmonary and critical care medicine and medical education, completing the Michael Adams Clinician Educator Track. Nihar plans to pursue a career in academic pulmonary and critical care medicine, with particular interests in clinical education and advanced lung diseases. When he’s not in the hospital, Nihar can be found watching sports (baseball, football, real football, basketball and formula 1), reading sci-fi novels, or exploring D.C.’s hidden culinary gems with his wife.
