Allison Kapson is a seasoned communications strategist with more than twelve years of experience working with healthcare organizations. As the assistant vice president for research communications, marketing, and public relations, Allison oversees all internal and external communications and serves as the primary media contact for MedStar Health Research Institute.
Prior to joining MedStar Health, Allison supported several healthcare organizations across the public and private sectors. Most recently, Allison led national public health campaigns for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), coordinated marketing campaigns for several academic health systems, and facilitated media relations on behalf of leaders of pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, and research institutes.
Hailing from the peach state, Allison graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the Grady College of Journalism. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her family.
