Nathan Barbo, FACHE, serves as the Senior Vice President of Operations at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. In this role, he provides executive leadership across clinical, operational, and administrative departments of MedStar Franklin Square. Nathan also partners with colleagues across the MedStar Health system to seamlessly integrate service lines and operations for better patient care.
Before joining MedStar Franklin Square, Nathan was the Vice President of Operations at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center and previously served as the Director of Operations at Digestive Disease Associates. An alumnus of the University of North Carolina, Nathan earned a Master of Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Finance. His undergraduate degree is in Healthcare Management from the Ohio State University, where he also studied Economics. Nathan is a board-certified Fellow in Healthcare Administration by the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He is a board member with I AM MENtality, Essex Community Development Corporation, and the United Way of Central Maryland’s Baltimore County RUN Board. In addition, he volunteers with Honor Flight, Summit Maryland, and Cornerstone Community Housing. In recognition of his professional impact and community involvement, the Baltimore Business Journal selected Nathan for their 2023 “40 Under 40” list.
