Traci AndersonELKRIDGE, MD (January 27, 2017) – Visiting Nurse Association of America (VNAA) recently honored MedStar Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) President Traci Anderson with the 2016 Public Policy Advocate of the Year Award. Anderson earned this award because of her strong advocacy efforts for national and regional non-profit home healthcare providers.

In recent years, MedStar VNA, a member of VNAA, has proudly hosted representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on numerous occasions to discuss and address regulatory challenges experienced by home health agencies. Anderson is always willing to open MedStar VNA’s doors or share internal policies and procedures to help regulators understand how regulatory requirements or pending legislation impact day-to-day business operations and patient care.

“As healthcare reform changes the way home health providers care for patients, it is important that we advocate for our patients and share our concerns,” says Anderson. “We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback to federal agencies, like CMS, and for the support of organizations like VNAA. MedStar VNA sees first-hand how regulatory and legislative changes impact patient care. It is a privilege and honor to be able to advocate on behalf of home health providers across the country.”
