About me

About the Provider

Edward Morris, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with MedStar Cardiology Associates at the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, heart attack, stroke, atrial fibrillation, congenital heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, and valvular heart disease, among others.

Dr. Morris’s practice focuses on thorough diagnostic testing that includes techniques such as nuclear cardiological stress tests, stress echocardiograms, treadmill stress tests, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, event monitoring, carotid duplex studies, leg arterial studies, and venous duplex studies.

His clinical interest is nuclear cardiology, a specialty that uses non-invasive techniques to diagnose various cardiovascular conditions. He is also passionate about educating patients on the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Morris received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He then joined Duke Medical Center, where he completed an internal medicine residency, a cardiology fellowship, and a specialty fellowship in nuclear cardiology. He has been named a “Top 20 Cardiologist” by the Washingtonian from 2009 to 2016.

Philosophy of Care

“Many cardiovascular events can be prevented. I stress prevention to my patients who are at risk of having a cardiac event. To those that have already had a cardiac event, I try to work on preventing another one from occurring by helping them to incorporate healthy lifestyle changes and, if indicated, medication.

“I care deeply for each one of my patients’ overall well-being and emphasize the importance of understanding that overall health is important to cardiovascular health.

“I’m open to all cardiovascular disease referrals and pledge to work in conjunction with my referring physicians to achieve the overall best health of their patients.”
