About the Provider

Matthew P. Schreiber, MD, MHS, FCCP
Matthew Schreiber, MD, is associate director of the Medical ICU and an attending physician in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Schreiber received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his medical degree with highest honors from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. His residency was in Internal Medicine at the Hospital Center and at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, and Dr. Schreiber also completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine. He also earned a Master of Health Sciences degree, from the Bloomberg School of Public health at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Schreiber is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Thoracic Society. His research includes work on pneumonia, delirium and ICU outcomes that has been published in peer reviewed publications, abstracts and book chapters, and he has extensive lecture and presentation experience. Dr. Schreiber is an active member of several clinical and quality committees at the Hospital Center.
