Aditya Mazmudar, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive care of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders. His clinical expertise includes degenerative spine disease, spinal stenosis, disc herniation, radiculopathy, spondylolisthesis, cervical myelopathy, adult spinal deformity, and complex revision spine surgery. When appropriate, Dr. Mazmudar utilizes advanced techniques including minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, motion-preserving (non-fusion) disc replacement, and navigated and robot-assisted surgery.

Dr. Mazmudar believes surgery should be considered thoughtfully and only after appropriate nonsurgical treatment options have been explored. He takes time to help patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make informed decisions that reflect their individual goals. When surgery is necessary, his focus is on providing safe, effective, individualized care while helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them. He works closely with primary care physicians, pain management specialists, neurologists, physical therapists, and rehabilitation teams to provide comprehensive spine care.

Dr. Mazmudar completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, followed by an advanced spine surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, with extensive training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.

He graduated with high honors from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with a focus in medical device innovation. Dr. Mazmudar has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national and international meetings. He is actively involved in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, and Cervical Spine Research Society and serves on the editorial board of Contemporary Spine Surgery. His academic work complements his commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered spine care.
