About me
Bahareh Sianati, MD, is a neurologist, fellowship trained in both epilepsy and neurophysiology. Dr. Sianati is double board-certified in neurology and psychiatry, and neurology and epilepsy; she is also board-eligible in electrophysiology. She sees patients at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.
An experienced researcher, Dr. Sianati’s clinical interests are epilepsy, headache, and electrophysiology. She is well-versed in innovative treatments including injectables, responsive neurostimulators, and radioablation.
With her patients, Dr. Sianati’s philosophy is to care for them as people – not as a single diagnosis or lab report. Her comprehensive approach incorporates feedback from both her patients and other multidisciplinary experts to develop individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Sianati is an assistant professor of neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center, and a member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Academy of Neurology, and American Neurophysiology Society. She understands Czech and fluently speaks Farsi.
