About me
Dr. Chris Kalhorn is a Professor of Clinical Neurosurgery, co-director of the Movement Disorders Program and Director of Medstar Georgetown’s epilepsy, pediatric and functional Neurosurgery Program. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his Neurosurgical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas under Dr. Robert Grossman, an internationally recognized expert in epilepsy and functional Neurosurgery. Dr. Kalhorn is a member of the MedStar Health Board of Directors. He is Chairman of the MedStar Health Quality, Safety and Professional Affairs Committee and a member of the MedStar Health Finance Committee. He serves as the Medical Director of the operating rooms at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
As a board-certified Neurosurgeon, Dr. Kalhorn focuses on the surgical management of epilepsy and surgery for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia. He has over 19 years of experience with DBS surgical implants. Other areas of focus include degenerative spine disease, lumbar and cervical disk herniations, spinal fusion surgery, brain tumors and the surgical treatment of chronic pain and spasticity. Dr. Kalhorn is an expert in robotic epilepsy surgery. His goal is to provide the highest quality, compassionate and personalized Neurosurgical care to his patients.
