As a Board Certified/Board eligible critical care physician, all conditions requiring intensive care in the medical, surgical, or neurosciences ICU are treated.
Cristina Aiken Reichner, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care, and sleep medicine. She is an associate professor of clinical medicine and the fellowship director for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Reichner treats patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including interstitial lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, cough, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Reichner graduated from Princeton University with a degree in molecular biology. She came to Georgetown University where she earned her medical degree and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She is active in professional education, clinical research and is a frequent presenter and moderator at professional medical society conferences. Currently, she is principal investigator on a study about the effect of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on biomarkers in obstructive sleep apnea.
Born and raised in Switzerland, Dr. Reichner came to the United States for college. In addition to English, she is fluent in French and German and enjoys seeing patients who speak those languages.
