About me
Morarji Peesay, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and Neonatologist at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Peesay specializes in caring for newborns who are born as late preterm infants, premature or critically ill infants. Dr. Peesay cares for infants born at an average of 30 to 40 weeks old, who most often face breathing and nutritional challenges.
Dr. Peesay has several neonatal device inventions, one patent and few patents pending. He has published innovative neonatal educational material as iPhone apps and is primary author of two books related to Neonatology Board certifications.
Dr. Peesay's approach to care focuses on complete and open communication, a reflection of the entire neonatal division. Parents have complete access to Dr. Peesay to not only know as much as possible about the care of their child, but to also talk through questions or concerns at any time.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Peesay is involved in research related to neonatal nuchal cords, a unique fetal/neonatal problem. As an Associate Professor of pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Peesay is also involved in teaching the next generation of physicians, pediatricians and neonatologists.
