My favorite inspirational quote or personal mantra:
“I defy the tyranny of precedent.” - Clara Barton
The aspect of performance improvement (PI) that is most exciting to me is:
Redesigning a system that works for both providers and patients.
When I’m not working, I enjoy:
Hanging out with my son, husband, and border collie.
If I had to sing karaoke, I would pick:
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough—Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell
Claire joins the team as a project manager with seven years of professional experience, five of which have been with MedStar Health. Claire joined MedStar Health as an occupational therapist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) working with stroke patients. By working on hospital-wide quality and research initiatives at MedStar NRH, Claire was introduced to the world of performance improvement. Using these skills, Claire became the stroke coordinator at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center (MedStar Montgomery).
At MedStar Montgomery, Claire spearheaded such projects as decreasing time to administer tPA within the emergency department and within inpatient units. Claire additionally helped establish the MedStar Stroke Coordinators Council, capitalizing on using the resources of the system to help the individual entity. Claire brings a clinician’s point of view to the PI team, with an emphasis on putting the patient first.
