Welcome to the Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center
The Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center is the only adult burn treatment center in the Washington Metropolitan area, serving the District, Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Eastern West Virginia.
We feature a multidisciplinary team approach to care that provides comprehensive services for patients from injury through rehabilitation. We also offer scar revision surgery for all patients, regardless of where their care originated.
The Burn Center admitted its first patient on July 13, 1972. And for a half-century, the Burn Center has provided groundbreaking surgical, critical, and rehabilitative care that has benefited many individuals across the Washington metropolitan region, including firefighters, members of law enforcement, and 10 people injured during the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Burn Center is located at the entrance of Patient Unit 3E.
Take the E/F elevators in the Main Hospital to the third floor and follow signs to Patient Unit 3E.
