No matter what your concern, your first stop is one of our accessible, expert health professionals. Our healthcare team fills multiple roles, including personal health coach, educator, and advocate, in pursuit of providing excellent health care. But most importantly, we are healers who work with you—our patient— to understand, diagnose, and address your health concerns.

Our Practices

We take our commitment to be your health care partner seriously. As primary care providers, our role is to be the healthcare professionals who know you best. Our goal is to work with you to adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain good health.

We provide a full continuum of adult healthcare services, including preventative care designed to keep you healthy; treatment to cure acute illnesses such as infections; and long-term management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

As internists, we are experts at recognizing and diagnosing illness. When you come to us with a health concern, we form a plan for diagnosis and treatment based on the best available medical information. Then we explain the illness and options to you in clear, understandable language. We find our patients are our best partners in treating illness, so we strive to help you understand the causes of probable outcome. We also take the time to explain the tests that may be needed to confirm our diagnosis and to outline the benefits and risks of any treatment we suggest.

In cases where specialty care is needed, we can guide you to the expert specialists and allied healthcare providers we know who can provide the care you need. Think of us as your personal health navigators, arranging different services and making sure everyone is addressing your healthcare needs.

In carrying out treatment plans, we comply with the requirements of your health insurance plan as well as government and hospital guidelines. The expected result is seamless, personalized care that puts you on the path to wellness.

Our Caring Commitment

As your healthcare partner, we believe that healing takes place in an atmosphere of mutual respect where healthcare providers and patients play an active role in health and wellness. Our focus is to work you achieve the best health possible.

How do I choose a primary care provider?

Your primary care provider (PCP) is often involved in your care for a long time—and is the first person you call if you have a health problem—so it is important to select someone with whom you can have a comfortable and honest relationship.

It’s a good idea to choose a provider who listens carefully to your concerns, explains things clearly and fully, shows respect for you, and anticipates your health problems. They also should allow you to ask questions and should provide answers that you can understand.

It’s also a good idea to ask:

  • What insurance do you accept?
  • Who sees patients when you are out of town?
  • How long does it take to get an appointment for a routine visit?
  • How long does it take to get an appointment for urgently needed care?

The PCP's at MedStar Harbor Hospital are here for you—they are your partners in health care, committed to providing you and your family with the best care.

Telehealth option

Enhanced telehealth offerings

Your health is our priority. That’s why we’ve introduced a new telehealth service for patients of this practice. We have a team of nurse practitioners and care managers who provide rapid, convenient access to care and who can help monitor certain health conditions using new technologies. These providers practice in a telehealth hub and are connected to your care team. They are an extended part of this practice and are here to meet your acute health care needs. When you make an appointment, you may be connected to this telehealth primary care team in collaboration with your primary care provider.

We also offer a remote patient monitoring hypertension program through our connected primary care team. According to the World Health Organization, hypertension (high blood pressure) significantly increases risk for heart, brain, kidney, and other disease and is the leading cause of premature death worldwide. Less than half of adults with hypertension are diagnosed and treated and only 20% of those diagnosed have controlled hypertension. Our program provides a care manager and team of clinicians at the ready to help you take control of your blood pressure and minimize the risk of future heart, stroke, or kidney disease due to uncontrolled hypertension. You will receive urgent lab/diagnostic result follow-up and automated prescription refills, which gets routine prescription refills processed within average of four hours and out to the pharmacy to be filled, resulting in medication in your hands quicker.
