About me
Ali A. Qadri, DPM, is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Qadri treats patients for all conditions of the foot and ankle, with a special focus on reconstructive surgery, sport-related injuries such as fractures and tendon injuries, limb salvage pathologies, wound care, Charcot reconstruction, and bunion correction.
Dr. Qadri is highly skilled in minimally invasive procedures and has advanced expertise in reconstructive surgery and limb salvage. He is passionate about helping patients preserve mobility and improve their quality of life after severe injury or disease. Guided by a holistic and multifactorial approach, Dr. Qadri considers the whole patient, addressing underlying causes rather than just symptoms. He collaborates closely with other specialists and always considers conservative, non-surgical treatments before recommending surgery.
Dr. Qadri received his doctorate in podiatric medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia. Afterward, he completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at the Detroit Medical Center. Following residency, he conducted his fellowship training at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Recognized for his research and academic contributions, Dr. Qadri has received multiple honors, including the Young Investigator Award (Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, 2025), the PICA Distinguished Scholar Award, and the ACFAS Great Lakes Region Award (2023). He is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Qadri is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi. Outside of medicine, he loves spending time with his wife and daughter.
Philosophy of Care
“Each patient deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. I value transparent and honest communication, and work hard to explain things as clearly as possible. Personalized care matters because not every shoe fits each patient. My approach is holistic–I consider my patients' needs, lifestyle, and wishes before offering a treatment plan with the goal of a better quality of life.”
