About me
Allison Fillar, MD is fellowship trained and board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. She specializes in reconstructive knee and shoulder surgery.
Dr. Fillar has cared for professional, collegiate, and high school athletic teams in New York and Maryland. She has conducted research on various topics including meniscal root injuries, patellar tendon repair techniques, treatment after Achilles tendon ruptures and has analyzed varying techniques for ACL reconstruction.
Dr. Fillar is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. She has been an invited instructor for arthroscopy courses at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She teaches residents and fellows across the DC, Maryland and Virginia region.
Dr. Fillar's focus is on helping patients get back to the activities they love. She believes in building relationships with patients over time and works in partnership with each person to evaluate treatment options.
