About me
D’Andre Williams, MD, RPVI, is a vascular surgeon practicing at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. She treats the full spectrum of vascular disease, including carotid artery disease, mesenteric and peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysms, and dissections.
Dr. Williams’ treatment approach is rooted in offering the least invasive but most effective treatment options based on her patients' personal needs. She often recommends lifestyle modifications first and discusses surgery only when necessary. When surgical interventions are required, she discusses the risks and benefits of each procedure, including open surgery and minimally invasive techniques such as endovascular surgery or hybrid procedures. Her ultimate goal is to provide durable, long-lasting solutions that reduce the need for future interventions.
Her clinical interests include advanced aortic repair, lower extremity limb salvage, carotid artery revascularization, and dialysis access. She stays abreast of medical innovations, particularly as new technologies expand surgical possibilities for patients with advanced vascular disease.
Dr. Williams obtained her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine and completed her residency in vascular surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. She is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Society of Black Vascular Surgeons.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys intramural sports, especially soccer and beach volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.
Philosophy of Care
“My approach to care is centered on helping patients through a challenging moment in their lives by offering clear communication, compassion, and collaboration. I always aim to use the least invasive but most effective treatment, whether that means lifestyle changes, medication, or surgery, when needed."
