Jonathan Furmanek, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon with MedStar Health. He sees patients in the MedStar Health Wound Healing Institute and the Podiatric Surgery offices at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Podiatric Surgery in Federal Hill, and MedStar Podiatric Surgery across the street from MedStar Harbor Hospital.

Dr. Furmanek graduated magna cum laude from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at MedStar Georgetown University and MedStar Washington Hospital Center (a level 1 trauma center), training in skeletal, musculoskeletal, advanced plastic surgery, and limb salvage techniques. He then completed an advanced fellowship in Sports Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, directed by Eugene Batelli, DPM, FACFAS, in southwest Florida.
Dr. Furmanek is certified by the American College of Surgeons in Advanced Trauma Life Support and is a Diplomate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is board-certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and as a wound specialist provider through the American Board of Wound Management. Dr. Furmanek is also distinctively qualified to treat unique pathologies, as he is certified as a histotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
