MedStar Georgetown University Hospital offers a range of specialized infusion therapy services that is unmatched in the region.

In addition to providing chemotherapy, biotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care for oncology patients with all types of cancers, we are uniquely qualified to offer infusion services to patients with non-cancer diagnoses, as many of the treatments, and medications used for patients with chronic conditions are similar to cancer therapies in their preparation, administration, and side effects. Our experienced staff of physicians, nurses, and other clinicians are trained in managing complex infusions and addressing infusion-related side effects that may occur.

Our infusion centers are staffed with specially trained nurses who are certified in the administration of chemotherapy, combining cutting-edge medical technology with a human touch for the best patient experience. Our skilled physicians and infusion specialists are well-versed in the latest treatments and are equipped with advanced technologies that can ease your symptoms and reduce potential side effects associated with treatment. We also have a dedicated on-site Oncology Pharmacy.

MedStar Georgetown is part of the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute, which combines medical expertise, the latest therapies, and research across MedStar Health. Our research engine, the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Washington, D.C., region. This partnership means we provide access to cutting-edge clinical trials and the latest breakthroughs in cancer care not available anywhere else in the region.

We serve as a central hub for all our patients’ needs, offering a full spectrum of cancer services, including screening and prevention, research, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, social/emotional support, and survivorship programs. The availability of other cancer specialists in the same location makes coordinating each patient’s care easier and our cancer-specific nurse navigators streamline the process, ensuring the delivery of patient-centered care throughout the cancer journey.

All of our treatment bays are private allowing for physician consults during treatment.
