MedStar Health provides patients with a comprehensive system-wide diabetes self-management program recognized by the Education Recognition Program of the American Diabetes Association. In addition to traditional diagnostic imaging, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and nuclear medicine, MedStar's thyroid research program offers positron emission tomography (PET), computed tomography, and PET-MRI fusion imaging capabilities. Our board-certified physicians serve on review committees for the National Institutes of Health, medical association boards, and advisory panels for government agencies and pharmaceutical companies, helping to guide and establish standards of care.
