Discovering better approaches to pain relief and symptom management

Palliative care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family. Palliative care often is confused with hospice care, but palliative care is available at any stage of a serious illness and can benefit patients as they undergo treatment or seek to manage a chronic condition.

Our team of investigators are clinicians who partner with care teams, patients, and their families to better understand pain relief and symptom management, examine how current approaches can benefit patients, and study new ways to provide relief.
