Vice President, Clinical Care Transformation, MedStar Health
Meena Seshamani, MD, is vice president of Clinical Care Transformation at MedStar Health and charged with leading value-based care initiatives across the system’s 10 hospitals and more than 300 outpatient care sites. Previously, she served as director of Clinical Performance Improvement, where she developed and led the platform for clinical operational and quality improvements.
Prior to MedStar, Dr. Seshamani was the director of the Office of Health Reform at the Department of Health and Human Services, where she led strategy and managed the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and delivery system reform.
Dr. Seshamani received her bachelor’s degree with honors, magna cum laude, in business economics from Brown University, and earned her medical degree, Alpha Omega Alpha, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She also holds a doctorate degree in health economics from the University of Oxford, where she was a Marshall Scholar. She completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and practiced as a head and neck surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
