Entrance to the Physicians Office Building at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington DCOur orthopedic center provides individualized care for a variety of movement disorders. Whether you have an acute injury or need pre- and post-operative care, our physical therapists are experts in individualized therapy for orthopedic conditions and injuries. Our clinic can be found in the south physician's office building with a primary focus in orthopedic therapy.

    Kim Agan attended Smith College where she received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. She also earned her doctoral degree in physical therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions.     Absolutely — whether you’re a weekend warrior or competitive athlete, we offer sport-rehab programs, return-to-play protocols (e.g., ACL prevention/recovery), running-injury evaluation, and functional performance training built around your goals.

  • How many sessions will I need, and how long might each session last?

    The number and duration of sessions depend on your specific injury or condition, treatment goals, and progress. Some patients may complete therapy in fewer visits; others—especially those recovering from surgery or returning to sport—may require more frequent or longer sessions. We reassess your progress often and adjust accordingly.

  • Do you accept my insurance?

    We accept most major health insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, United Healthcare, and TRICARE. Because coverage and networks vary by plan and service, we recommend calling your insurance provider to verify your coverage.

  • Is convenient parking available?

    Yes — the clinic is located in the south Physician’s Office Building at 106 Irving Street Northwest in Washington, DC. There are several parking garages and parking is validated by our clinic for outpatient therapy patients.

    MedStar Health Physical Therapy at Irving Street Orthopedic Center is typically open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • How should I prepare for my physical therapy appointment?

    Eat a balanced meal 1-2 hours prior to therapy. Drink about 2.5 cups of water prior to therapy. Take any prescribed pain medications at least 1 hour prior to therapy. Dress in T-shirts, athletic tops, sweatpants, shorts, yoga pants, or athletic leggings. Wear athletic/walking shoes and avoid open toed sandals, flip-flops, and high heels. Ensure proper access to the treatment area.
