About me
Dr. Khouqeer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who specializes in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures to manage and diagnose pancreatobiliary diseases. His areas of special interest and expertise include EUS-guided procedures, malignant and benign disorders of the bile ducts and pancreas, advanced polypectomy removal, staging of luminal gastrointestinal cancer, and endoscopic luminal stenting.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Dr. Khouqeer earned his medical degree from King Saud University, College of Medicine in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He completed his residency at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He also completed fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology and advanced endoscopy at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and a research fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.
His approach to caring for his patients combines evidence-based medicine and clinical guidelines to address each patient’s unique circumstances, engaging them in shared decision-making to deliver safe, effective, and personalized care.
When he’s not working, Dr. Khouqeer enjoys spending time with his wife and child, exploring new restaurants, photography, and travel.
