About me
Ahmareen Baten, MD, is a neurologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital who sees patients for all neurological disorders, with a special focus on epilepsy and seizure disorders. She is trained and experienced in reading electroencephalograms, the use of different medications to treat seizures and other neurological diseases, and in neuromodulatory treatments such as vagal nerve stimulation and responsive neurostimulation therapy for the treatment of seizures.
Dr. Baten received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. She then joined the George Washington University School of Medicine for a one-year internal medicine internship before completing a three-year neurology residency with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. After that, she completed a specialty fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Philosophy of Care
“I treat my patients like I would treat a member of my family. I’m here to listen, to answer questions, to educate, and to get to know them as a person so that we can come with up a treatment plan that is right for that particular patient with their own set of circumstances.”
