About me
Dr. Landy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, and has been caring for mothers and their babies for well over thirty years. Her practice focuses primarily on high risk conditions of both mother and baby.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Landy earned her medical degree from Northwestern University, completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital and fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Center. Her professional career has centered in Washington, D.C., with the exception of a period of service on the faculty of the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Medical. A member of the Georgetown University Medical Center faculty since 1997, Dr. Landy was appointed chair in 2003, becoming the first female clinical chair at Georgetown.
Dr. Landy's practice concentrates on high risk pregnancies, including multiple gestations, pregnancy loss, medical complications of pregnancy and obstetric ultrasound. As the Division Director for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Associate Director for the MFM Fellowship Program, she is actively engaged in both teaching and research. Dr. Landy has been a dedicated educator and mentor, teaching students, residents, and MFM fellows. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and academic treatises., as well as having had abstract and poster presentations at national meetings. She served twenty years of continuous service as an oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Landy brings both clinical excellence and personal empathy to her patients. The opportunity to share important and intimate dimensions of her own reproductive experience is profoundly meaningful for her, providing opportunities to deepen the connections with her patients. The academic environment she fosters is consistent with Georgetown's credo of cura personalis, and affords her the opportunity to educate and mentor future generations of physicians.
Personally, Dr. Landy lives with her husband, a tax attorney, They have two adult children and two small granddaughters. She has played piano since the age of 6 and enjoys reading, hiking, and Broadway musicals.
