About me
Paul J. Carroll, DPM is a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Podiatric Foot & Ankle Surgeon for MedStar Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, practicing at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. He specializes in reconstructive foot & ankle surgery, foot & ankle trauma, limb salvage (wound care, charcot reconstruction), limb deformity correction (post-stroke, partial foot amputation, etc.), peripheral nerve surgery, as well as lower extremity sports medicine. Dr. Carroll also specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques (MIS bunionectomy, tendon lengthening, etc.), limb lengthening, 3-D printed implants in patients with bone loss (i.e bone infection, limb salvage, etc).
Dr. Carroll earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. His clinical skill was recognized during residency with the 2015 Diabetic Limb Salvage Award.
Dr. Carroll completed his foot & ankle reconstructive and trauma fellowship training at Lake Health/NOFA/OALC in Concord, Ohio. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in Foot surgery and RRA surgery. Dr. Carroll is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgery (ACFAS).
An active member of the community, Dr. Carroll serves as a medical volunteer at the Boston and New York City marathons. He is committed to supporting his patients’ podiatric health, one step at a time.
