He earned his medical degree at the NRI Medical College, in Guntur, India, and completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, in New York, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology, at Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh.
