Welcome to physical therapy at Bel Air Athletic Club

Our clinic at the Bel Air Athletic Club offers orthopaedic services for all ages and activity levels. Our specialists treat both acute and chronic orthopaedic injuries and conditions, including spine and lower back pain, as well as sports-related injuries. We also work collaboratively with MedStar Health’s renowned orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists to help you return to your everyday life faster and safer.

Our support group for stroke survivors, family, and friends meets on the third Thursday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Hours of operation:

Monday, Wednesday:
7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Thursday:
7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Steve Luca, PT, MPT, ATC, Clinic Director

    Steve Luca attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiological sciences. He also completed his master’s degree in physical therapy from Old Dominion. Steve is a certified athletic trainer and specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

  • Stephanie Alderson, PT, DPT

    Stephanie Alderson earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. In addition, Stephanie completed her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Arcadia University. Stephanie specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

    • Dry Needling 
    • Neck Pain and Lower Back Pain

  • James Fischer, PT, MPT, Clinic Coordinator

    James Fischer attended the University of Maryland at College Park where he received his master’s degree in physical therapy. James’ rehabilitation specialties include: 

    • Arthritis Treatment

    • Neck Pain and Lower Back Pain 
    • Orthopedic Injuries and Conditions 
  • Anthony Huling, PTA, ATC

    Anthony Huling attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He also attended Montgomery College, earning his associate’s degree in physical therapy assistance. Anthony is a certified athletic trainer and specializes in the following: 

    • Neck Pain and Lower Back Pain

    • Rock Taping 
    • Selective Functional Movement Assessment 
  • Chelsea Mitchell, PT, DPT

    Chelsea Mitchell received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Stevenson University. She also attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she completed her doctoral degree in physical therapy. Chelsea specializes in the following:

  • Brian M. Powell, PT, DPT

    Brian received his Bachelor's in Biology from Villanova University and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Delaware. After graduation he completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at University of Delaware focusing on surgical procedures as well as on-field injury management and sport-specific rehabilitation. He has worked in numerous outpatient PT settings and has taught Continuing Education courses focusing on modalities and functional strengthening. In his spare time, he enjoys playing baseball and spending time with his wife and two children.

  • Karen Zimmerman, PTA, ATC

    Karen Zimmerman attended Salisbury University where she received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She also completed her associate’s degree in physical therapy assistance from Anne Arundel Community College. Karen is a certified athletic trainer and her rehabilitation specialties include:
