Douglas Mayson, MD, is a physician in the Department of Neurology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Mayson is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology (stroke) by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Having completed his fellowship in cerebrovascular disease (stroke) his primary focus is in caring for patients who have suffered stroke, brain hemorrhage, or have cerebrovascular disease. He has been involved in multiple long-term research studies, most recently as the site primary investigator at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for the Ethnic/Racial Variations of Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ERICH) study. Dr. Mayson has published multiple articles on his research studies.
Outside of work, Dr. Mayson is an avid skier and hiker. He also has traveled extensively, including to parts of South America, Europe and Asia.
