There are two clerkships offered which consist of an initial clerkship with four-weeks of weekly rotations which are designed to include experience with inpatient spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation care, as well as one week of exposure to outpatient services including sports/spine, neurorehabilitation, and cancer rehabilitation. The medical students work under the direct supervision of the residents and attending staff. Upon successful completion of the initial clerkship, the medical student may choose one of the weekly rotations for a second one month clerkship. During this rotation, the student will follow 2-3 patients on their own with the supervision of the faculty attending.
Didactic conferences including a core PM&R lecture series, electrodiagnostic medicine series, journal club, morbidity and mortality conference, physical exam workshops, ultrasound workshops, and grand rounds are also available to the student.
