There are significant opportunities for faculty-mentored clinical research at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and basic science research at the National Institutes of Health. The Office of Graduate Medical Education offers funding to support the presentation of research at conferences or meetings.
Fellows demonstrating a strong interest in a clinical or basic science research career can elect to extend their training for a fourth year. This final year will be dedicated to research with an option to complete course work leading to a master's degree in public health or comparable degree. The program will grant fellows ample time and resources to pursue these objectives.
