Faculty—The MedStar Health—Union Memorial Hospital Fellowship Program in Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics

Walter C. Hembree, MD

Program Director

Walter C. Hembree, MD, is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. After fellowship, Dr. Hembree worked for Greenvile Health System in South Carolina for 6 years before returning to Baltimore to joint the faculty at Union Memorial, where he has practiced since 2018.

Gregory Guyton, MD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Guyton joined MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in the summer of 2002. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, he completed a residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics followed by a foot and ankle fellowship under the direction of Dr. Roger Mann in Oakland, CA. Prior to joining the faculty at Union Memorial, Dr. Guyton was part of the foot and ankle program at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Stuart Miller, MD

Faculty

Dr. Miller received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. He then completed the foot and ankle fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Myerson. Dr. Miller was subsequently asked to join the faculty at Union Memorial where he has been in practice since the 1990s. Dr. Miller has helped educate hundreds of residents and fellows over the course of his career.

Nacime Mansur

Nacime Mansur, MD, PhD

Faculty

Nacime Mansur, MD, PhD, completed medical school and residency at the esteemed Federal University of Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Residency training was followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery under the direction of Dr. Caio Nery, a renowned international figure in the world of foot and ankle orthopaedics. Dr. Mansur has been active academically for the last 10 years, having completed clinical and research fellowships at multiple institutions including but not limited to University of Iowa, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, and Duke University. Dr. Mansur’s clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery and complex reconstructive procedures.
