Welcome to the Breast Health Program at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center

The MedStar Breast Health Program at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center offers patients in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas access to state-of-the-art care delivered in a comfortable environment without having to travel far from home.

Serving patients with cancerous and non-cancerous breast conditions from prevention through treatment and beyond, the center emphasizes total care provided by a multidisciplinary team. Services include digital screening and diagnostic mammography, 3-D mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI, imaging-guided breast biopsy, breast surgery and reconstruction, genetic counseling and testing, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, clinical trials, survivor support services, and more. Plus, patients requesting second opinions are seen within 48 hours.

Support groups

Survivorship Care Program

Our Survivorship Care Program includes a care program and suggested referrals for ongoing post treatment support services including nutritional counseling, physical therapy, psychosocial support, and cancer screenings.

Patient Support Group

The Patient Support Group provides a safe place to connect with other patients, reduce feelings of anxiety and distress, increase feelings of hope, and learn new ways of coping. Time and place: First Friday of every month, 12 noon to 1 p.m., via TeleHealth

The Caregiver Support Group provides caregivers of a person who has been diagnosed with cancer with practical and emotional support. Time and place: Second Friday of every month, 12 noon to 1 p.m., via TeleHealth

Gentle Yoga

Tailored to meet a person’s needs at all stages of treatment and recovery, classes are free for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. Time and place: Wednesdays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., via ZOOM
