Located just off Route 108 and Route 29, our Ellicott City site offers plenty of parking, a comfortable environment, and convenient access to a compassionate team of physical therapists and occupational therapists. Working closely with MedStar Health’s orthopaedic, sports medicine, and primary care specialists, we provide customized therapy for a wide range of conditions and ages. From pediatric physical therapy to specialized hand therapy, our team has advanced training in a variety of unique areas. Bryan Caplan, PT, DPT, MTC, AVP
Bryan attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Bryan completed his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences. He is also certified in manual therapy (MTC).
Bryan grew up in Baltimore County. He is a lifelong Orioles, Ravens, and Terrapins fan. He is an avid traveler and has visited 49 states and numerous countries. Some highlights of his travels include Paris, London, Italy, Belgium, Dominican Republic, Australia, and New Zealand. Bryan enjoys spending time outside of work with his wife and two daughters.

Rebecca Orloski, PT, DPT, Regional Director
Rebecca attended Penn State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Communication. She then completed her Doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami.
Rebecca was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Maryland following PT school. She places value on leading an active lifestyle, including strength training and running, and working on her skiing skills in the winter. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and cheering for Penn State with her husband.

James Chen, PT, DPT, CSCS
James received his bachelor’s degree in biology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then went on to receive a master's degree in exercise and sports science with an emphasis in sports biomechanics from National Taiwan Normal University. He has worked extensively with athletes from amateur to professional levels. James earned his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. James holds multiple certifications in sports performance training (CSCS). He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
James grew up in Howard County. He has lived in Southern California, Houston, Taipei, and visits Tokyo yearly. Outside of the clinic, James enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, golfing, traveling, and strength training.

Yasmine Darrehmane, PT, DPT
Yasmine attended Salisbury University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She completed her doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Yasmine grew up in Catonsville. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, running, and strength training.

Kevin Durrant, PTA
Kevin received his associate’s degree to become a physical therapist assistant from Anne Arundel Community College.
Kevin is a lifelong Marylander and has been a practicing PTA in the area since 2000. Outside of work he enjoys spending time outdoors, cycling, strength training, traveling, and spending time with family. He is also an avid fan of live music and dogs.

Kristen Roden-Hicks, PTA, ATC
Kristen received her bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Salisbury University. She continued her education at Anne Arundel Community College where she earned her associate’s degree to become a physical therapist assistant. Kristen is a certified/licensed athletic trainer and is certified in active release techniques (ART).
Kristen grew up in the Baltimore area. She focuses on living a healthy lifestyle, movement and nutrition. Outside the clinic she really enjoys her Peloton workouts, spending time at the beach with her two Rottweilers, going to Baltimore Ravens games with her husband and visiting family in LA, California.

Kristina Pak, PT, DPT
Kristina attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and kinesiology. She earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy at Ohio University.
Kristina was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Maryland following PT school. In her free time she enjoys traveling with her husband, baking, hiking, exercising, and spending time with her family. She is a coffee connoisseur and loves exploring local coffee shops. Her favorite is a light roast with fruity notes.

Kerstin Waltz, OTR/L, CHT
Kerstin attended school for occupational therapy in Lippoldsberg, Germany. Kerstin has been board-certified in occupational therapy by the NBCOT since 1995. She has been a certified hand therapist (CHT) since 2010. Kerstin is also fluent in German.
Kerstin was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany, and has a sense of adventure. After she graduated in Germany, Kerstin volunteered in occupational therapy in a teaching hospital in Chicago, which made a huge impact on her life. She took a job in Los Angeles, CA, passed the national board exam and worked in different settings practicing orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. Kerstin has been in Maryland since 2004, working fully in outpatient orthopedic upper extremity rehabilitation, specializing in hand therapy, which she is very passionate about.
Kerstin lives with her husband in Baltimore County and has two grown children. She learned to appreciate American football, but her heart is still with “soccer.” She loves outdoor activities, like backpacking, hiking, gardening, and most recently, pickleball and riding her e-bike. She also loves the arts and enjoys visiting museums.

Ellen Anderson, PT, DPT
Ellen attended Salisbury University where she received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She also completed her doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Ellen grew up in a military family and has lived in many places, but has spent most of her time in Maryland. In her free time she enjoys playing soccer, hiking, baking, as well as a wide variety of different arts and crafts activities. Her favorite soccer team is Everton FC and hopes to one day attend a game in England. She is interested in pursuing a certification in hand therapy.

E. McKenzie Bane, PT, DPT, MS, ATC, SCS, CSCS
McKenzie completed the dual degree DPT/MSAT program at Shenandoah University where he earned his doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) and Master of Science in athletic training (MSAT). He is also an APTA board certified sports clinical specialist (SCS) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). His experience has been with athletes, the active general population, and special forces in the military. McKenzie has a passion for mentorship and education, he leads our Environment of Learning and coordinates our sports residency in the greater Baltimore region.
McKenzie is a Maryland native who went to the University of Maryland–College Park. He is a mediocre golfer, loves to travel and do anything outdoors.
