About the Provider

Dr. M. Carter Denny obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine as well as a Master's in public health in 2010. She completed her Neurology residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in 2014. She went on to complete a two-year Vascular Neurology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in 2016.

Dr. Denny has experience providing acute neurologic consultations using video-based telemedicine technology for patients at 16 regional hospitals in southeast Texas with the UTHealth Telemedicine Program. Dr. Denny has participated in several stroke clinical trials. Her particular interests include acute stroke care, transitions of care and stroke prevention.

Dr. Denny is the recipient of several academic awards including the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Society award and the MD/MPH award for excellence. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

In addition to her medical background, Dr. Denny enjoys yoga, running, cooking, and global travel. She speaks Spanish with high proficiency, which compliments both her medical practice and her love of travel.
