Amita Singh, MD, MS, is a board-certified vascular neurologist who specializes in care for patients who have experienced strokes, seizures, and other neurologic emergencies. As patients present to the hospital with these complex medical issues, Dr. Singh guides clinical assessments and decisions regarding the most appropriate treatment pathways while also providing longitudinal post-stroke care in the outpatient setting. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team to streamline treatment, improve outcomes, and ensure continuity of care throughout the patient journey.

Dr. Singh is proud to be part of the neurology team at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and recognized as one of the premier destinations for the high-quality stroke care in the State of Maryland. Here, she has the opportunity to deliver the latest advances in stroke care, while also contributing to clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives that are helping to shape the future of stroke treatment. Additionally, Dr. Singh advocates strongly for patient and provider education. She takes the time to ensure patients and their families understand diagnoses, treatment options and recommendations, and realistic expectations. In tandem, she is committed to continuous medical education and doing her part to train the next generation of physicians.

Dr. Singh is passionate about her work and the role research and science plays in advancing healthcare. The daughter of two scientists, her childhood exposures and experiences shaped her interests and career pathway. She is proud to be a doctor who specializes in both neurologic and stroke care—an innovative field of medicine that is rapidly evolving and improving.
