About me
Miryam Alkayyali, MD, MSc, is a fellowship-trained, board certified vascular neurologist at MedStar Health. She diagnoses and treats a wide range of neurological conditions, including ischemic stroke, intracereberal hemorrhage, arterial dissection, venous sinus thrombosis, and atherosclerosis. Dr. Alkayyali provides inpatient neurology and vascular neurology consultations and responds to stroke emergencies across the region as part of MedStar Health’s TeleStroke team. Dr. Alkayyali also leads the Stroke Clinic for follow-up care for patients at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Dr. Alkayyali has received numerous honors recognizing her dedication to patient care and medical education. She is a compassionate and empathetic care provider who provides support for patients and their families as they navigate the post-stroke journey. Dr. Alkayyali is known for her thorough, attentive, and evidence-based approaches in the evaluation and treatment of stroke and post-stroke complications.
