Application Information—The MedStar Health—Georgetown University Hospital Residency Program in Plastic Surgery

MedStar Georgetown Plastic Surgery Residency Program is an integrated training program that has four categorical positions within a six-year program.

Note: All qualified applicants are considered for interviews. However, the volume of applicants precludes us from offering interviews to all who apply.

We will be accepting the Plastic Surgery Central Application (PSCA) as the sole application to our program. The PSCA is an ACAPS-supported, low-cost, plastic surgery-specific application crafted to both improve the residency application process and to decrease financial barriers to students.  We are no longer accepting ERAS.

You may use this link to access the PSCA: https://centralapp.accessgme.com.

Upon accessing the application, you will be instructed to create a secure account and will be able to request letters of recommendation, transcripts, and MSPE (Dean's Letters) directly through the application portal. As in years prior the match will remain with National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Please direct any questions about the application to PSCA@accessgme.com.

Interviews

Candidates who have been selected to interview will be notified via email correspondence. All candidates are interviewed via Zoom. During the interview day, each candidate will have the opportunity to interview with members of the faculty as well as the Chairman.

The interview day provides not only an opportunity for our faculty to meet the applicants, but also provides applicants to gain information about our program. We, therefore, provide opportunities throughout the interview day for the applicants to speak to current residents.

The night before each interview, our current residents host a virtual “happy hour.” This gives the applicant an opportunity to meet the faculty in a less formal setting.
Please be aware, all correspondence will be conducted through email.

Interview date for plastic surgery residency:

  • Typically there are two IV dates in January that re-announced each application cycle.
