Volunteer Opportunities
As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to serve the hospital in various ways including but not limited to:

Assisting MedStar Georgetown associates, patients, and visitors in inpatient and outpatient areas

Providing clerical assistance in hospital administrative offices

Guiding and escorting visitors and patients throughout the facility through our Wayfinding Program

Assist clinical care teams in enhancing the patient experience

Year-Round Volunteer Program
The Year-Round Volunteer Program application opens July 2026 – August 2026. To be eligible for the year-round volunteer program, applicants must:
- Be at least 17 years of age for the year-round program.
- Parental consent is required for applicants under the age of 18 to participate.
- Commit to a minimum of 4 hours of service per week for a minimum of 100 hours per year.
- Have two references complete and submit a recommendation form (link below).
- Be available to volunteer through May 2027.
Summer Volunteer Program
The summer volunteer program will run from June to the end of August. Please submit applications in a timely manner as opportunities fill up quickly. To be eligible for the summer volunteer program, applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years of age for the summer program.
- Parental consent is required for applicants under the age of 18 to participate.
- Commit to a minimum of 4 hours of service per week for a minimum of 64 hours of
total service. - Have two references complete and submit a recommendation form (link below).
The application window for the 2026 Summer Volunteer Program is closed. The 2027 Summer Volunteer Program application will open in February 2027.
