Welcome to our neurorehabilitation and speech services at Irving Street 

Our neurorehabilitation center is conveniently located on the first floor of MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital where nationally recognized experts research the brain and nervous system. This close proximity allows us to design new and innovative therapy plans for our adult and pediatric patients who are recovering from complex brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurological diseases.

Hours of operation:

Monday to Thursday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • Alyssa Bleimeyer, MS, CCC-SLP

    Alyssa Bleimeyer earned her bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology and deaf studies from Towson University. She also completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Gallaudet University. Alyssa is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) and specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

  • Theresa Buechler, PT, DPT

    Theresa Buechler received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University and is currently treating in the SCI Day Program.

  • Janice Coles, MS, CCC-SLP

    Janice Coles earned her bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She also completed her master’s degree in communication disorders from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Janice is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) and specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

  • Judith Davidson, PT, DPT

    Judith Davidson attended the School of Physical Therapy at the University of the West Indies. In addition, Judith earned her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Utica College. She specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

    • Neurorehabilitation

    • Stroke Recovery

  • Maya Drummond, PT, DPT

    Maya graduated summa cum laude from Ithaca College with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Bachelors in Clinical Health Studies and minor in dance. Maya is also a part of the Health Equity and Anti-Racism Team, a subcommittee of the American Physical Therapy Association. Maya is also a Science for Social Equity Fellow working on a health disparity project. Maya specializes in rehab for people with chronic joint or muscle pain conditions, performing artists, and stroke survivors.

  • Patricia Fletcher, MS, CCC-SLP

    Patricia Fletcher earned her bachelor’s degree in hearing and speech science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her master’s degree in communication disorders from Syracuse University. Patricia specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:

    Yvonne Francis received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Howard University. She also completed her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland University College. Yvonne is a cancer exercise specialist and also specializes in rehabilitation for the following:

    • Cancer Rehabilitation

    • Facial Palsy Therapy

    • Lymphedema Management

  • Valerie Grinman, OTR/L

    Valerie Grinman received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University. She began her career in inpatient stroke and brain injury rehabilitation before transitioning to outpatient therapy. Valerie is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and holds an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications. Additionally, Valerie addresses shoulder disorders, chronic pain disorders, and sexuality in her practice.

    Heather Jentilet received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University. She specializes in the following:

    • Amputee Rehabilitation and Lower Extremity Prosthetic Training
    • Seating and Wheelchair Prescription

  • Diane Kaliris PT, DPT, NCS

    Diane Kaliris received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Davidson College. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions. She received her Neurologic Clinical Specialty certification from the APTA. She is also a clinical mentor for the Irving Street clinic. She specializes in treatment of all neurological diagnoses including:

    • CVA/Stroke
    • TBI
    • Vestibular diagnoses/dizziness

  • Sarah Ouwerkerk, OTR/L

    Sarah Ouwerkerk received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Acadia University. She received her master’s degree from the University of Alberta. Sarah specializes in the following:

    • Multiple Sclerosis Services

    • Parkinson's Disease (LSVT)

    • Spinal Cord Injury Treatment

  • Bonnie Pancoast, PT, DPT

    Bonnie Pancoast received her bachelor's degree in biology from Longwood University. She then went on to receive her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Marymount University. Bonnie is a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist (NCS) and her rehabilitation specialties include:

  • Dhruvy Patel PT, DPT

    Dhruvy received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Governors State University . She has worked in a sports specialty clinic treating orthopedic conditions from triathletes to general office workers and is experienced in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. Dhruvy has also worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility, and enjoys working with geriatric patients. Dhruvy's area of expertise include: spinal pain, post-polio syndrome, Bell's Palsy, and TMD.

  • Jill Payaggapandha, PT, DPT, MS

    Jill Payaggapandha received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. She also completed her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science at Syracuse University. Jill is a neurological clinical specialist and specializes in rehabilitation of the following:

    • Movement Disorders (e.g., Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease)
    • Stroke
    • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Ana Patricia Quinones, PTA

    Attended Northen Viginia Community college her Associate degree as Physical Therapist Assistant, she also completed her Bachelor's degree at Devry University in Project management, she is Board Member of the Washington DC Physical Therapy Board. She is bilingual in Spanish She specializes in Aquatic Therapy with over 13 years of experience.

    Jennifer Ryder attended Colby College where she received her bachelor’s degree. She also received her master's degree from George Washington University. Jennifer is American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)-certified. Her rehabilitation specialties include:

  • Anna Wilner, MS, CCC-SLP

    Anna Wilner earned her bachelor’s degree in cognitive science and Spanish from the University of Michigan. She completed her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from MGH Institute of Health Professions. Anna is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD) and is a registered clinician with Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImPTM). She specializes in the following rehabilitation areas:
