For instance, MedStar Georgetown Hospital is the "most breastfeeding-friendly facility" in Washington as recognized by the DC Breastfeeding Coalition. Both MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and MedStar Harbor Hospital are both "Baby-Friendly" certified facilities that have implemented the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and follows the international Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes so that evidenced-base care is provided. With International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants® (IBCLC) available, we provide full-service breastfeeding and breast-milk substitute support that includes counseling, education, evidenced-based clinical management, and access to the purchasing and rental of breastfeeding equipment.
