Grand Rounds are held at Georgetown and include resident and attending lectures from all affiliated hospitals in the city. Many times during the year, guest lecturers in their specialty from across the country are invited to speak on new advancements in the field of Urology.
MEDSTAR GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL:
Major conferences at MedStar Georgetown's Department of Urology occur every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is protected academic time for all residents. The conferences include resident didactics led by urology faculty that emphasize the major topics in urology, the AUA core curriculum, and the AUA guidelines, as well as Grand Rounds, M&M and surgical indications conference. Other regularly-scheduled conferences include multidisciplinary tumor board (held at MGUH and MWHC), MRI and imaging conference, and regularly-scheduled research conferences.
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH:
NIH conferences include tumor board, MRI conference, research conference and path/genetics conference.
CHILDREN’S NATIONAL MEDICAL CENTER:
Children’s National Medical Center holds a weekly radiology and case review conference, as well as a city-wide didactic conference.
