Welcome to our neurorehabilitation and speech services at Irving Street 

Our neurorehabilitation center is conveniently located on the first floor of MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital where nationally recognized experts research the brain and nervous system. This close proximity allows us to design new and innovative therapy plans for our adult and pediatric patients who are recovering from complex brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurological diseases.

Monday to Thursday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    Alyssa Bleimeyer earned her bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology and deaf studies from Towson University. She also completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Gallaudet University.     Jane Alkhazov received her bachelor's in clinical health studies and doctorate in physical therapy from Ithaca College. She then went on to complete a Neurologic physical therapy residency at Louisiana State University Shreveport where she conducted research on the use of blood flow restriction training in neurologic populations. She has presented her research nationally. Jane’s rehabilitation specialties include:

  • McTheophilus (Phil) Barizo, PT, DPT

    McTheophilus "Phil" Barizo received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Emory & Henry College, School of Health Sciences. Phil has experience working with a range of patients from young athletes to geriatric patients with neurologic conditions, he specializes in the following:

  • Dhruvy Patel PT, DPT

    Dhruvy received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Governors State University . She has worked in a sports specialty clinic treating orthopedic conditions from triathletes to general office workers and is experienced in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. Dhruvy has also worked in a Skilled Nursing Facility, and enjoys working with geriatric patients. Dhruvy's area of expertise include: spinal pain, post-polio syndrome, Bell's Palsy, and TMD.

    Attended Northen Viginia Community college her Associate degree as Physical Therapist Assistant, she also completed her Bachelor's degree at Devry University in Project management, she is Board Member of the Washington DC Physical Therapy Board. She is bilingual in Spanish She specializes in Aquatic Therapy with over 13 years of experience.
