Our cancer-specific nurse navigators streamline the process, ensuring the delivery of patient-centered care throughout the cancer journey. Patients have access to advanced therapies that are not widely available elsewhere. The Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy program at MedStar Georgetown is the only adult full service, Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT)-accredited center meeting the standards of excellence set forth by FACT, in the Washington, D.C., region for adult autologous stem cell transplantation, allogeneic stem cell transplantation and cellular immunotherapy (CAR T-cell therapy). Additionally we offer innovative therapies such as tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy to give eligible patients new hope when other treatments are no longer effective. Our specialists are also actively preparing to bring gene therapy to patients as research and approvals progress, ensuring that you benefit from the very latest in cancer treatment innovation.

Our research engine, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the region’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, gives patients access to breakthrough treatments and clinical trials in cancer care. Support services
A no-cost, whole family care program for parents with cancer, offered at MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
When a parent has cancer, Family Circle is here to help. The program supports parents going through treatment for cancer, as well as their families.
A no-cost program for parents with cancer and helps support them, their cancer caregivers, and children (ages 0-21) across the family’s cancer journey.
As part of the program, families will have the opportunity to receive education and counseling to navigate conversations with children about cancer, manage stress and strengthen coping, and enhance their parenting skills in the context of cancer.
